Has it been a decade already? Really?

10 years passed by and the whole Switchstance crew is still in it to win it. The label and it´s artists and musicians still stand for quality music and a wide range of tempos and styles. Keeping things organic and grounded is what the crew behind Switchstance Recordings was always about. But where does it all come from?

"Switchstance" is taken from the culture of board sports, meaning the skill used to change the stance (easily) by switching one's foot position. The stance in freestyle Snowboarding or Skateboarding, is either riding in "regular" (left foot forward) or "goofy" (right foot forward) position. This identifies a really skilled rider and opens up a whole new world of trick combinations.


The label's creed and therefore the style of its producers and DJs is to have ultimate freedom, whether in their musical movements or in "switching" between various styles. The aim of the label is to combine early musical influences such as Funk, Jazz, Latin, 90´s Hip Hop and Reggae with the most progressive techniques of electronic music production in order to create a new dynamic sound that pays respect to the diverse cultures it comes from. It is the soundtrack of the lives of artists that dedicate their time and energy to produce cutting-edge grooves for a conscious and open-minded generation.

Inspired by the label members' and friends' lifestyles in music, board sports, arts and travels; the sound of Switchstance is always in motion and reflects a unique vision and attitude towards modern life.

The past 10 years showed the music of Switchstance Recordings being used by brands and associations such as Burton Snowboards, Etnies, Element, Vans, Red Bull, Davidoff, EA Games, O´Neill, Microsoft, TTR World Snowboard Tour, Nike, Method Magazine, Puzzle Videomagazine, etc. Music is and always was an international phenomenon for the Switchstance family.

International networking was the platform for spreading and supporting the music and the vibe of the Switchstance artists which lead to collaborations with artists such as The Jungle Brothers, Tippa Irie, The Pharcyde, Bajka, Raashan Ahmad, Azeem, Fort Knox Five, Zion Train, DJ Brace, Issa Bagayogo, Ladybug Mecca (of Digable Planets), Ocote Soul Sounds, Vieux Farke Toure, Federico Aubele, Zion I and many more.

Watch out for Switchstance Recordings in the future! The crew is going stronger than ever and the first 10 years were just the beginning.
