about

Here we go with another set of mash-up corkers from the Beatstalkers (aka The Ancient Astronauts):

Behold the „Modern Stalking EP“!

Following up their first release on Foot Forward Music, „Pyramid Funk & Dynamite Reggae Vol. 1“ – which was sold out on vinyl within four weeks of its release and has since become a staple in many DJ sets around the world – the true headz of the mash-up biz come up with a couple of more tunes that instantly make you go: „Why the heck didn't I think of that?!“ Well, maybe you should have. But now it's the Beatstalkers' turn and with the „Modern Stalking EP“, they make you crank the volume up to eleven inna beastly bootleg style!

Speaking of beastly: First up is „Edgelactic“ a version of „Intergalactic“ which grounds the famous Beastie Boys' rap within the mighty soundscapes of cinematic funkmaster David Axelrod and his „The Edge“ – the result is an instant classic that truly stands out among the countless versions of Beastie tunes. The „Beatstalkers Anthem“ is a short but sweet hors d'oeuvre for any HipHop lover, making old Johann Sebastian Bach your homeboy for life! Advice: Get two and juggle'em and the result is pure No Sleep 'Til Bayreuth! Last up is „Heartcore“, a true scorcher which takes the Large Professor's rap all the way to the skanking epitome of 70s cool via a blazing reggae version of all-time favorite „Shaft“.

No doubt about it: This is „Modern Stalking“ at its very most party-proof!
