"Domestic Violence" by Majestik Legend, Dogu and Akongo Wero
Switchstance Recordings proudly unveils an impactful musical collaboration that addresses a crucial societal issue: domestic violence. Dogu of Ancient Astronauts joins forces with Congolese producer Majestik Legend and Ugandan singer Akongo Wero to create a stirring single that aims to empower and advocate for change.

With a heart dedicated to social change and cultural exchange, Dogu's journeys to East Africa have led to remarkable artistic connections. During a transformative two-week artist residency at Justahub in Kampala, Uganda, Dogu crossed paths with Majestik Legend, a Congolese producer and rapper who has found refuge in Kampala and is a vital force behind the music production at Justahub Records.

The collaboration blossomed as these two innovative producers united their creative forces, culminating in the creation of the profound track, "Domestic Violence." Enlisting the soulful voice of Ugandan singer Akongo Wero, the song delves into the harrowing reality of domestic violence, specifically focusing on the experiences of women who face abuse and mistreatment at the hands of their partners.

"Domestic Violence" is a poignant anthem that amplifies the voices of those who have been silenced for far too long. Akongo Wero's emotive vocals reveal the heart-wrenching stories of women trapped in a cycle of abuse, a narrative that resonates across cultures and societies. The song challenges toxic masculinity, shedding light on the pressing need to end this insidious cycle.

Beyond the music, Akongo Wero's commitment to this cause is evident through her recent initiative, the Wawero Foundation, aimed at assisting women in Kampala's underserved communities.
